Genetic Algorithm-Optimized Adaptive Network Fuzzy Inference System-Based VSG Controller for Sustainable Operation of Distribution System

To achieve a more sustainable supply of electricity and reduce dependency on fuels, the application renewable energy sources-based distribution systems (DS) is stimulating. However, intermittent nature sources reduces overall inertia power system, which in turn seriously affects frequency stability system. A virtual synchronous generator can provide inertial response support to DS. existing active controllers VSG are not optimized react variation changes Hence this paper introduces new controller by incorporating GA-ANFIS improve performance VSG. The advantage proposed ANFIS-based its ability optimize membership function order better range accuracy for responses. Rate change (ROCOF) used as inputs control values two swing equation parameters, constant (J) damping (D). Two objective functions ANFIS. Transient simulation carried out PSCAD/EMTDC validate controller. For all scenarios, with (VOFIS) managed maintain DS within safe operating limit. comparison between three other proved that than controller, transient 22% faster compared controllers.
